About
MATTHEW MASTRONARDI is a theatre artist and musician based in Philadelphia, PA. He has performed, directed, and music directed all over the continental United States as well as in Europe and Asia. Locally he has worked with Ensemble Arts Philly, Walnut Street Theatre, Arden Theatre Company, 11th Hour Theatre Company, People's Light, Delaware Shakespeare, Drexel University, Montgomery County Community College, Act II Playhouse, Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Shakespeare in Clark Park, Revolution Shakespeare, Media Theatre, and Wilma Theater just to name a few.
Some of his favorite acting credits include: Peter and the Starcatcher, A Child's Christmas in Wales, and A Christmas Carol (Walnut Street Theatre); Roadshow, Into the Woods, and Urinetown (11th Hour Theatre Company); Man of La Mancha (Act II Playhouse); Patience (Theater at Monmouth, Maine); The Merry Wives of Windsor (Shakespeare in Clark Park). In Italy, Matthew appeared in another production of The Merry Wives of Windsor with Teatro delle Due, this time as Sir John Falstaff. He appeared in [Untitled Project] #213 as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. And in China, Matthew co-created and starred in two new musicals performed by both professional actors and students for Sunrise Art Group.
As a musician, Matthew's main instruments are piano and cello. He has had the privilege to play both in many productions throughout his career. As a music director, Matthew has worked with many actor/musicians, and created arrangements adapting the music for any skill set and ability. He specializes in adding live music and instrumentation to any theatre piece. In addition, he is also a vocal coach, focusing on helping singers find their voice and expanding their repertoire.
Matthew holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. He is a proud member of the Actors' Equity Association.
